Spring In The Summer While It Looks Like Fall

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

Wowza. Is it ever busy! I love it. Luckily I love being busy acting more than I love sleep, or we’d have a problem.

*Rehearsing for Kenny Rogers. The fundraiser was fantastic! Less than 7 weeks until Fringe!

*I also get my film fix! Come mid-August, I’ll be Janet in QLP’s, “The Year Without Hockey” – no, it’s not a horror movie.

*Disoriental has another gig! On Sunday, August 12th, at 12:00 noon, we’ll be doing a 25-minute set at the Chinatown Festival (Corner of Keefer and Columbia, the Andy Livingstone Park). It’s free and will be fabulous, so come on down!

And I have another very exciting bit of news that I will not disclose quite yet, as it’s not ready to be unleashed…

I learned how to make a balloon bicycle!!

That wasn’t the news, but that’s pretty exciting anyway, isn’t it?

The Kenny Benny!

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, there is a fundraiser for The Kenny Rogers Experience!

  • Where? The Oddfellows Hall, 1443 W 8th Ave, Vancouver
  • When? Erm…tonight? That’s Friday, July 20th, folks!
  • What time? Doors open at 8:00pm, show starts at 8:45.

And…I hear there’s cheap alcohol, too. Ooh!

There is entertainment! Yes, I will be singing, yes, there are prizes and giveaways, and yes, “Kenny Rogers” will be there.  It’s true! I know it’s short notice, but if you find yourself with nothing to do this Friday night, come on over, and support us! Funds from this go towards making our show the best it can be – after all that’s what fund raisers are for, yes?

See you there!

Une Autre!

Monday, July 9th, 2007

This September, you can (and will!) see yours truly in her first ever Fringe show! Yes, that’s right. I’ve been cast in “The Kenny Rogers Experience,” as one of Kenny’s 3 ex-wives. Directed by Jacques Lalonde. September 6-16. Rehearsals start tomorrow (well, tonight, now.) Yes, The Gambler will be sung.

Support the Vancouver Fringe Festival! Watch Kristal perform!

Obsessions at The Beaumont Studios

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

Showtime tonight! You can catch me at The Beaumont Studios (5th & Alberta) on July 4-6 at 7:30pm in a one act staged radio show called “Obsessions.” Tickets are $10. The Beaumont is a pretty small space (something like a 55 seat house), and we’re only doing 3 shows, so get there early to get your tickets!

And Disoriental just keeps booking gigs! The wonderful Rick Tae (one of our awesome consultants during the Sketchoff!#$%!!) is wanting to direct/manage us for a gig on the Sunshine Coast mid-September – how awesome is that?! Pretty awesome, let me tell you! I’ve also been inspired to write new-old sketches (ask for definition if needed), so that’s pretty stellar.

I’ll let you know what else is happening, as I know it’s happening.

I feel good.

Knock on wood.
